“Keil”
This is a character I created for my comic book, no title yet. It's about a twin brothers, Keil and Kohan, brought up by two different forces... the good and the evil. But at the end there should only be one destined to rule their world. Keil was raised by a clan of wizards in the deep hidden forest of Zorack. While the other brother Kohan grew up with the evil forces headed by the Lord Serpent Dragon Steel in the kingdom they conquered. A lot is happening in my head... wars, envy, hatred, revenge, love and journey. It's an epic adventure lurking in my head, so far for now.

“Faces of Good and Evil”
The characters of the twin brothers are much in contrast, but they have the same blood and both of them has a little of something bad and good deep within them. And they both have one love interest in the story... Princess Ezel daughter of a powerful Queen Yara.
“Mag Syota”

It's funny sometimes how a single scene can make up stories. Why the girl has a knife? Now make up a story.

Tunong Enkanto
Each night before I embark into the world of dreams, it's been a habbit to do little sketches in my bed and usaually ended up into a drawing. Can't help myself unless I reach a desirable stop. Somehow this is my ticket into my dreams.

“Alupihang Dagat”

Inspired from Pablo S. Gomez “ Alupihang Dagat”.

Wednesday, September 21, 2005

This is a compre drawing for my entry for the upcoming KOMIKON ( 1st Philippine Komiks Convention) at UP Diliman, Manila, Philippines on October 22, 2005. This will be a big event for Filipino Comic Artists. This piece was inspired from the novel of Pablo S. Gomez - “Alupihang Dagat”, and drawn by Alex Niño in the local comics. It was read and loved by Filipinos at that time. Later they made it into a movie starred by the late Fernando Poe Jr..

Every great works of art starts with a sketch. So let's start scribbling and do little thumbnails... a first hand doodles of tini tiny bits of ideas lurking on your cocoshell starts to form on paper.

From that then... we sketch the characters. In this early stage I'm just concerned of the stance and pose of the characters.

Then again checking on my drawings, carefull with my anatomy, and puting them together. Now I realised that the composition was sliding down, so I tilt or slant it up a bit to give my hero a heroic stance.

Now I''m putting them on a makeshift raft... right in the midst of roaring rough seas, poor guys. Being the illustrator... you are GOD! A rude God ha?

I'm not that rude... let's give them hope. We will add a sail then. That's Cool!

To be continued... let me eat my lunch first.
Alupihang Dagat Composition:

I'm done with my quick lunch sa KFC, nasa tabi lng namin dito.

Now lets draw them with a bit of a compositional thought. Putting a bit of drama in the scene.

I thought the caIling for a special logotype title for the overall illustration is needed. So I design one to fit the composition.

After putting them all together... now a breathed of satisfaction filled the air. Masaya na ako dyan!
